AOL

For a few years back in the late 1990′s and early 2000′s there seemed to be an ever-growing barrage of AOL discs in our mailboxes. Sometimes once a week, then a few times a week.. and eventually what seemed to be every damned day!

The Chaps gang found some fun new uses for the discs.

Chaps Reloaded (The Matrix)

The year was 2000. A group of young amateur filmmakers were spending their free time shooting comedy sketches for their show “Chaps”, which aired on public access in Eau Claire and Chippewa Falls. “The Matrix” inspired a few of these parody videos including this one used as the show intro to the final episode (57).

Even though the acting was shoddy at best and wardrobe was non-existent, the editing and comedic timing in many spots still stands strong 15 years later.

SNES Famicom Edition

SNES Famicom Edition

This poor, sad old console was in need of a lot of love so I decided to rehab it back to functionality.. and then some.

The color scheme is a tribute to the console that started it all – The Nintendo Family Computer (or Famicom). It’s my own special color scheme to bring back to glory this mighty machine.

I’ve also modded the system to accept Japanese Super Famicom carts (SFC) for a bit more authenticity.

Wes and the Arabian Finesse – House of Rock (5/4/2007)

Before there was “The Finesse” there was “Wes and the Arabian Finesse”. This early version of the group featured a younger, more raw music library and a few different musicians. This never-before-heard live recording is a new release from the vault at RAKIBIRD.

Personnel: Wesley Brunner, Rani + Raji Alowairdi and featuring Brandon Walters on lead guitar.
